Cleaning rust

Hey guys, today I can across some steel at a price i couldnt pass, FREE.
Well anyway it's covered in rust. What the best way to clean rust off, besides a grinding wheel? I already spent an hr or so.

Re: Cleaning rust

Look up Electrolysis Rust Removal. It's the best in my opinion.

I just got done de-rusting the A-arms off of my '55 Chevy. It just didn't get the rust that's in a couple of cracks & crevices.

That process doesn't remove any good metal. It just removes the rust.

Re: Cleaning rust

What they said, and if that isn't an option evaporust works great too. I did a whole bunch of old impact sockets I got from my dad, evaporusted them, then parkerized them, they look great now.
