I think I'm going to try to get it smogged today. I ran two tanks of fuel through it since I got it running again. It runs good and is getting good mileage. All I have to do is replace the heat riser tube for visual.
You guys have all recommended iso-heat, acetone and/or isopropyl alcohol. Is one better than the other? Is there someplace up here near me where I can buy one of these in bulk?
I've changed the oil, cleaned and oiled the K&N and it has fresh plugs. Other than a couple gallons of one of the additives and having it nice and warm does anybody else have any other suggestions? This XJ has failed smog once. After that I replaced everything that could be related including all of the vacuum lines and cat. It then smogged great. I just don't like having it fail.

Iso heet like 3 bucks or less at autozone for the yellow bottle. Just use one. Have your tank near full for a better evap test. Make sure you have a fresh oil change.

Passed mine back in december 248k. Only problem was the 33s on the dyno

Do you think 33's with 3.55Gears will pass? I have about 7 days to figure it out. If not do you suggest putting the stock ones on.

I passed with 33's and 3.55

Why would tire size and gearing make it not pass?

larger tires change your gear ratio (just like changing the axle ring & pinion) thus making the engine turn lower rpms to run the same mph. this will negatively affect your passing smog.

My numbers were better at 25mph than at 15mph. At least on my civic.
NOX was way higher at 15mph than 25mph.
