Re: Will I be needing spacers to run 31" tires??

I saw a photo online of a Jeep with a 3" lift kit and 31" tires. I
liked how it looks and I want to do that with mine. However, I'm with
235/75R15 tires right now and I don't know if my tires are rubbing or
not. To widen my wheelbase, what types of rims should I be looking to
buy? I can't remember what the 3 different styles mean as far as where
they bold onto the vehicle. I know there's a style that widens your
wheelbase. To run 31" tires on stock rims, do you think I'll need
spacers so they won't rub?

If you run 31s on stock rims, they will rub only in your tightest turns.

Re: Will I be needing spacers to run 31" tires??

That's part of the reason why I want to get custom rims, aside from
them adding a better look to my Jeep. There is some style of rims
that will widen my wheelbase so perhaps they won't rub. If they do, I
thought to buy spacers.

The tires I want to buy aren't with the big lugs on them like the mud
terrain BFG tires. They're just regular winter tires. Someone who
used to work with me has just stock size tires on his Toyota and goes
wheelin' with just winter tires and hasn't gotten stuck yet with
them. Where I go doesn't need them so I just stick to winter tires.
