I have been tracking down an issue I have with blowby in my 88 Jeep XJ
4.0 and found an article
It says to get part #4762592 from a Jeep dealer, but when I called
they could not confirm that this kit would come with all the vacuum
lines needed as the article suggests. And the dealer needed to know if
my grommets were gray or black. At a price of $17.95 I'm not so sure
either. It also did not surprise me that the dealer was unaware that
the PCV valve is built into the valve cover.
So I think I need to replace all the vacuum lines and maybe the valve
cover because it doesn't look like the valve cover has a PCV valve in it.
Does this sound right and where can I get the parts?

Seriously, if this fixes your blow-by, and you don't need to drop $600
for a new engine... I think $18 is worth it. Either way; I'm sure
if its the wrong part, you can simply return it for a 90% refund (10%
restocking likely).
I was able to use rubber vacuum hose to repair my cracked vacuum
lines. my heep has oil consumption (possibly from the pcv being
gummed up) but I don't care. it runs great and passes emissions no
prob. 207k miles and still kickin'!

the PCV is internal and if
this doesn't work you will need to pull the cover and clean the carbon
out of the valve.

The towers in the valve cover aren't really PCV there more along the lines of breathers..
Pop the cover off and Drill two holes in each tower. This will keep them from creating suction and pulling oil from the top end of the motor..

Go to your local Checker and ask for the dorman catalog. They make the
sets... when I was in California they had them on the shelf.
