My '87 6cyls Cherokee has two chimney-like parts inside the valve
cover, one below each of the two breathing ports. They are somewhat
oblong and long enough to go very near the top of the head, where
the oil flows when the motor is running. They are fixed to the valve
cover with three screws, and inside have a small flat plate that seems
to act as a valve.
What are they for? If I take out the one on the vacuum port, maybe the
vacuum port will not suction oil into the intake manifold, and burn it
out the exhaust. Would it work?
