My '92 Cherokee cruise control is acting up on me. After I set the speed
it slowly creeps up going faster and faster. After decelerating to 10 to
15 mph below of where I want to be it creeps up to that point and stops.
However, half the time I push the button to slow down it jumps into full
throttle. I've replaced the whole turn-signal-cruise-control part on the
sterring column twice and it still does this but it only does it about 80
percent of the time. Is there something else I should be looking at?

Have you looked at the speed sensor for the cruise control? It's all-electronic in '92 - there's no speedometer cable or transducer such as those found on cable-operated speedometers.
My problem (my cruise control recently died completely) is the turn signal switch. The cruise control would stop working if I flashed my high beams (such as to let a truck driver know it was safe to change
lanes in front of me), and also when signaling to change lanes. I would have to reset my speed as if I had never pushed the cruise button.
How hard was it to change out your turn signal switch? My steering wheel has already been changed recently (to a leather-wrapped wheel), so it's not like I'm fighting a steering wheel that hasn't been removed in 16 years.

I had it checked out. Servo needs to be replaced, small vacuum leak there
also. I guess it uses vacuum also.
