Is my XJ roof strong enough?

Do yall think my Y2KXJ roof is strong enough to safely hold a 28' extension ladder and a 8' step ladder? Both are fiberglass. I will build a real nice full length roof rack that I will bolt on.

Im gonna get real tired of installing cable out of my std cab S-10, and Im thinkin of puttin my XJ into service.

Don't know what my spare (33/12.5/15 MT/R) & high-lift weight but I would guess that it is more than your fiberglass ladders...
Directly on my roof...
Just not sure where/how much you want hanging off either end...
JEEP is like 16 ft. leaves like 12 ft. hang-en...lol...M...

Re: Is my XJ roof strong enough?

Well, the extension ladder is only 14' long but extends to 28'. It looks real funny on a std cab S10 LOL.
I had a spare on my rack once......

Im also thinkin of ( OK don't laugh!) of putting a rear sway bar on, (with discos of course).
Im gonna be haulin some weight around, and in a hurry LOL...

Re: Is my XJ roof strong enough?

Man I have a full length roof rack that is 6ft by 4ft and 6 inch high steel THEN I throw a CANVAS pavillion tent the poles for such around 150pds PLUS 4 sleeping bags a 10-20 rolled up carpet and my spare. So I am thinking a couple fiberglass ladders are not an issue.
