I want to get my springs from the salvage yard and save some money but I dont know which ones to use. I read that another guy has used dodge dakota rear leaves but they give you 4.5" and I just want to go up 3.

You may be able to get the right mix of leafs from a Dakota and the Cherokee to give you the 3 inches you want. Although you will soon want 4.5 inches anyway.
